About “TV-only” and “portable-only” Switch models

A lot of people are asking for Switch models that are either just handhelds or just home consoles. I don't think that's going to happen, here's why:

  1. It completely misses the point of the Switch. The hole purpose of the Switch is to be a home console that you can take everywhere. That's its "gimmick", you can't change it. Imagine a Wii, but without motion controls. It doesn't make any sense.

  2. I don't think Nintendo wants to make dedicated handhelds anymore, since now, Nintendo's "portable gaming" is on mobile now (Super Mario Run, Pokémon GO, etc.). The Switch only takes the best from Nintendo's handhelds and disguises it as a home console.

  3. For a dedicated home console, the Nvidia Shield TV is a good alternative. They both have about the same CPU, and the Shield is now apparently getting actual console games on it, like Watch Dogs 2 and Assassin's Creed Syndicate.

That's just my opinion, though, I hope at least a few people agree with me…
