Another market the switch could compete in, which nobody has mentioned:

Tablets. The Switch is one, and it could serve many of their functions. It's clear we won't be getting any of this at launch, but through future software updates Nintendo could put a fast, high quality web browser on the Switch, allow a section of the eshop for apps like Spotify, Netflix, Kindle, Google Drive, and Youtube, and add a "joycon-free" functionality to the system for times when people might want to use it like a regular tablet, taking those apps on the go with more portability.

This would help with sales in the same way that PS3's blu-ray functionality helped it, and in a year or two when the price probably drops to $250 or $200, it'll start to look like a pretty solid option for anyone in the market to buy a tablet.
