I realize that some of this may have been covered already, but there are a few things that I'd like to discus that I haven't seen after searching though the sub
I pre ordered my Nintendo switch at FYE Saturday (February 11th, around 12pm PST). From talking with the sales attendant at the register, and item availability, I'm going to assume a couple of things. I have no proof for any of this conjecture other than word of mouth of an FYE employee, but those words give me hope for a smooth launch day.
I wanted to pre order The Neon Nintendo Switch console, Breath of The Wild, and the Switch Pro Controller. When I asked about the Neon console, he told me that they were "out of Neon units for pre order". Then when I asked about Breath of The Wild and the Pro Controller, he told me " All Switch related consoles, accessories, and games have been reserved but the Grey Nintendo Switch 32 GB Consoles."
I was hyped just to reserve a console so I could get one, but a little bummed that I'd have to run around for the game and controller on release day. The good news however, is that it seems FYE has learned from past mistakes and is keeping better track of pre ordered units this time around.
I'm not sure if this goes for every single FYE everywhere, but I hope this post puts a couple of minds at ease! I'm so exited! I'm 25 years old and I'm starting to feel like I did waiting for the N64 all those years ago! Just a little while longer and we can get our hands on this wonderful new console!
TLDR; It seems FYE is a little more attentive of pre order units than they have been in the past, even if they do have limited stock for release.
