I started listening to the song itself after the commercial, because I really liked it, and started listening to the lyrics more closely. I believe Nintendo is really trying to send a message with what is said in the song/commercial
Verse 1: First things first I'ma say all the words inside my head I'm fired up and tired of the way that things have been, oh-ooh The way that things have been, oh-ooh Second thing second Don't you tell me what you think that I can be I'm the one at the sail, I'm the master of my sea, oh-ooh The master of my sea, oh-ooh
Nintendo is tired of being labeled bottom tier for the gaming industry. They know they can be better than that, and they will be with this new console, which will show the world again that they are Masters in the gaming industry.
Next they skip a lot of the song to fit the final verse in the song which is: Last things last By the grace of the fire and the flames You're the face of the future, the blood in my veins, oh-ooh The blood in my veins, oh-ooh
The Switch is the future of Nintendo and hopefully for the console industry.
I just think Nintendo could've picked a vast majority of the songs by the specifically picked this new song that clearly sends a message to what the Switch is about, and hopefully this marketing strategy will be a Home Run for Nintendo.
