TFLOPS, or why a lot of people think they know better.

I'm quite tired of all the people debating over the fact that the NS won't reach PS4 and XB1 with TFLOPS.

Have they ever heard of the expression "real-world performance"?

TFLOPS mean nothing, or well they mean just as many other aspects related, including the software making the GPU talk with games.

An example?

RX 480 vs GTX 1060 – TFLOPS

RX 480 vs GTX 1060 – Games benchmark

Guess what? RX 480 has 50% more TFLOPS, but underperforms in every game.

So, what's the point? We could actually achieve the same performance even with lower TFLOPS, or even better if that dock would supply additional power to overclock and cool the GPU.

Only time will tell… the only sure thing is the NS may be great. Or may be not. But not because of a "mobile" GPU (that's already confirmed to support games like Skyrim SE!!!)
