There's about to be a blitz of Switch presentations and demos, and I wanted to organize them all to try to make sense of what's a presentation, what's a press-only event, a public demo, etc. I plan to update this post with concrete dates/times and locations when they become available.
First, the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 will be live streamed from Japan at 11 PM ET on January 12. This will be followed by (or take place during) a private, press-only event, where attendees will get to go hands-on with Switch for the first time.
The following day marks the beginning of a two-day public event at Tokyo Big Sight (no invites needed?) that will allow more people to get their hands on and play Switch.
Around the same time, similar press-only events will be held in the US and UK.
Very soon after that, at least one public (but apparently invite-only) Nintendo event will take place at Nintendo NY. Other regions of the world (or even other US cities) will likely see the same thing in the month of January.
And finally, at some time between all these events and the March release date, Nintendo will commence public and open demos at retail partners (similar to the numerous Best Buy events they've held in the US, if you're familiar with those).
