Hi everybody, just wanted to clear some misinformation because I see a lot of people on the internet talking about these "issues". I'll input my personal opinion in brackets.
1. "It's weak and has a bad battery!!1!!!!111!
We know it uses a next generation Tegra processor based on the newest GeForce GPUs (I think it's safe to assume it's a Pascal). Nvidia's newest GPU architecture has a very low power consumption level and Nvidia has been heavily involved with the Switch in general "The development encompassed 500 man-years of effort across every facet of creating a new gaming platform" (I think it's safe to assume it will have alright battery life, something like 4 hours).
As for power, we know that
The Nintendo Switch’s gaming experience is also supported by fully custom software, including a revamped physics engine, new libraries, advanced game tools and libraries. NVIDIA additionally created new gaming APIs to fully harness this performance. The newest API, NVN, was built specifically to bring lightweight, fast gaming to the masses.
and Nvidia said that everything that ran on Xbox One and PS4 (in 2013) would also run on their line of Tegra processors (Keep in mind that is the older X1 and running on ported Android games without the new NVN Nvidia API, so I think power definitely isn't a concern, I think the Switch will be about Xbox One levels of power. )
And for complaints about the FPS in the video, it was all added in post production and the video itself is 24FPS, for all we know it could have been Wii U / PC footage of those games.
2. "The dock will increase performance!!"
You might have heard that from her (Personally, I don't think anyone should trust her anymore, she said that BG&E2 would be at the Switch reveal and exclusive, she got all the dimensions of the Switch wrong, she said the leaked devkit was "100% fake" even though it was 100% real, it had the same screen, the same positions of the speakers and the same ports that Nintendo dev kits have been having since the DS, then she backpedaled and said it was a mockup built from existing fake mockups from the internet, which again, is not ture) but Nintendo themselves said this (I also think it's plausible that the dock only does charging and video because Nintendo wants this to be cheap and accessible to everyone, and since Nvidia was heavily involved I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility that the Switch has a USB-C port on the bottom and that's the only port the dock has, since a USB-C port can send video/audio and receive data and also charge the device, so Nintendo would really have something cheap if they went that route).
If there's anything I missed/got wrong please tell me and I'll add it/correct it asap.
